In the wake of the loss of a loved one, are you struggling with an emptiness you never imagined, wondering how life can possibly continue without your loved one? Do you find yourself replaying memories, both cherished and painful, asking "Why did this happen?" or "Could I have done something differently?" Are you questioning your faith, your purpose, or the very meaning of life itself, as waves of sorrow, anger, or numbness wash over you unexpectedly? How do you begin to navigate this foreign landscape of grief, where familiar routines feel abnormal and the future seems overwhelmed in uncertainty?

As a Mental Health Counselor grounded in Christian beliefs, I will work with you using a blend of therapeutic approaches. Through Grief Counseling Techniques, we'd gently explore your unique grieving process, allowing space for all your emotions—sadness, anger, confusion—and honoring the memory of your loved one within the context of God's love and eternal hope. We'd process the pain, not bypass it, acknowledging the spiritual struggle that often accompanies loss. With Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), we'd prayerfully identify your strengths and God-given resources, focusing on small, actionable steps you can take toward healing and finding renewed purpose, even amidst sorrow. This might involve setting goals rooted in your faith, like engaging in community or finding new ways to remember your loved one. Finally, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) would help us gently challenge any unhelpful or distorted thoughts that might be keeping you stuck, such as beliefs about self-blame or the fairness of life. We'd examine these thoughts in light of biblical truths and God's promises, working to replace them with more realistic and hopeful perspectives that align with your Christian worldview, fostering peace that surpasses understanding.
