Events from our past can haunt us for many years to come. These traumatic issues can be due to events that have happened to us, things we have witnessed, or even developing a sense of trauma from hearing about what has happened to others. These issues from the past can be worked through with a counselor to help us find a sense of closure and peace due to past events. These events can include but are not limited to, being sexually abused, being physically abused, being verbally/emotionally abused, witnessing an accident, finding a deceased loved one, or having something traumatic happen to a family member or friend. A counselor will help you to learn how to cope with these traumatic events, work through the process of forgiveness, or working through the process of self-forgiveness.
